Picking the Right Business

I have a belief about boomers and business. That belief is that most boomers who are looking at the possibility of starting a second career want to do something that fires them up every day. We don’t want just another job or something that takes the best hours of every day. What we really want is something that can give us the ability to make good money while allowing us to control our own time and location.
With all the technology that is available to us now, there are many options that meet this basic requirement.
- Consulting – If you are really good at something and you like teaching what you know to others, this might be a possibility.
- Copyrighting – If you have the ability to write and you love to put ideas into words, you might want to consider this option.
- Internet Marketing – If you love to research products and companies, finding what people are looking to buy online and then providing that product, you may be a prime candidate for internet marketing.
- Creating information products – If you love the challenge of combining all of these three options, you could create your own information products and help others by teaching/coaching them to success.
- Network Marketing – Now I am not talking about “pyramid schemes” but real businesses with real products that uses the network marketing business model to sell that product. If you love working with people, helping them find success, and coaching people in business/success skills, you might want to research the best this industry has to offer.
These are just a few examples of opportunities that you might consider. Each would allow you to work at your pace, from any place, letting your second career serve you as you serve your clients/team.
